December Daily 2012

So, I decided to create my first December Daily this year, I am only going to December 25th.Oh my was that alot of pages! This December daily has a little twist to it...I challenged myself to use only what I had available in my craft room.I have to admit that was a challenge! I did have to order larger owires, which have not arrived yet. When they do, I'll decorate the cover a little more and post it.  I think some of these papers go back about 8 or 9 years!lol Even though they are older papers, I have always loved crafting with a vintage flair, so they are still something that I would choose today.I should warn you before you go any further...this post is pic HEAVY! I guess this is when a video would be appropriate, but I have never tackled that one.

The above letter opens up for a couple of pictures to be placed inside.

Below you can see that there is room for several pictures and journaling.
It's a little hard to see, in the picture below there  is a piece of clear cardstock between pages 5 & 6. I stamped a  little PTI Fancy Flourish with white staz on. Through out this book I have use PTI's Fancy Flourish, Grunge Me, Countdown Details, Tim Holtz Mini Holidays, and Just Rite Elegant Fronds.
I used this image of the little girl several years ago for my Christmas cards.I love her!

Just wanted to show you that this opens up to journal inside.

I plan on baking cookies around the 9th & 10th and I had this adorable sticker that I put on clear card stock. I made a recipe card on the back side using PTI Recipe Box.
Page 10 & 11 are on a piece of of acrylic.Fortunately I had goodies in my stash that worked perfect!
The hinged picture above opens up for a couple of pictures to be added.I thought that I could jot a few things down in this little book.

It's funny that I didn't even realize, until I saw the pictures, that I used this same santa in a smaller version on the previous page.

Another spot for a picture and some journaling.
Are you still with me? lol  Sorry this post is sooo long!

December 22 is my oldest DS 28th birthday. When he was little he loved to play with any kind of building blocks and cars and trucks. When I happened across this paper in my stash, I knew it had to go on this page.

Always trying to find hidden picture or journaling spots.
Have I lost you? We are almost done!
I love how I added another little piece of paper and angled it for an extra tag.
Well, if your still with me, thank you for looking at the longest blog post ever!!
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year!

Happy Halloween

Today I made a card to play along with Papertrey Ink's Mr.Bones Spook Out.
I've had these dies sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks, but I just haven't found the time to play, until today!  I went a little different than the conventional pumpkin, but I had someone in mind to make this for, and I think she will love it.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday to me!

Several months ago, Nichole Heady posted her ribbon shelf that her husband made for her, it was perfect! I asked DH last winter if he could build me one, he said when it got a little warmer in the garage, well it got warm and still no shelf. It was too hot now, so when it cools off he told me. WELL, I out smarted him, my birthday was the beginning of the month, and that's what I told him I wanted! :) He couldn't put it off any longer...haha. When we went to buy the sheet of Bead Board(they come in pre-cut half sheets) we decided instead of cutting it down, we would just use the whole piece, this determined how large my shelf would be. Since it is so large(2&1/2'x4'), I decided that i didn't need all of that storage for ribbon, so i had him put a couple of shelves using the 1x4 boards. There are 41 rolls of ribbon on the top shelf so far,I'm thinking it will hold about 55 per shelf. The bottom shelf is 1x4 also, making it perfect for the larger spools of seam binding. I was going to have DH hang it on the wall, but I think I might just like it where it is at.

The unfortunate thing is, the first 30 rolls of PTI ribbon that I bought, I took off of the spools and put into these jars. I wish I had those empty spools back now!

Before I go, I wanted to share these adorable boxes that I bought at TJMaxx. They go perfect with my room, I just love them!

Stitches and Swirls

As soon as I watched Heather Nichols video, I knew which set I wanted to use for this challenge. This stamp isn't all that big, but it sure was time consuming!! After I stitched the design ,I went back and highlighted some of it with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

PTI July Blog Hop

For some reason when I saw this photo, it reminded me of when I use to silk ribbon embroider, which was at least 10 years ago. It was an art that I loved to do, and after playing around with it on this card, I hope to get back at it! I dyed the seam binding an some of the silk ribbon with Melon Berry and Harvest Gold reinker. This card is so soft, and  pretty IRL, I  just didn't capture it to well!
